BREAKING NEWS FROM ABBEYFEALE COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Community Council under the stewardship of Chairman Maurice O’Connell and Secretary Trevor McCarthy have been credited with a number of initiatives in the Abbeyfeale area over the past 6 – 12 months but it’s the latest collaboration between the ACC, the Church Pastoral Council, the Tidy Towns Committee and the Town Park Committee, along with a top-up contribution from Councillor Francis Foley’s GMA Fund that has resulted in the successful overall funding and purchase of 3 high-end Defibrillators and 3 all-weather lockable Cabinets. The Defibrillators and Cabinets which were presented to the respective groups in Leens Hotel on Friday August 4 are due to be installed in the Church Grounds, The Square and the Town Park over the next couple of weeks. The lifesaving equipment was long overdue at these busy locations and will further compliment the Defibrillators currently located at the GAA, Soccer and Rugby Grounds along with the one located at the Abbeyfeale & District Search and Rescue. It’s another perfect example of how the coming together of various Voluntary Groups and individuals within a Community can result in the implementation of a successful project.
