The Gary McMahon returns this week-end from 1st -3rd November, 2013.

MCMAHON SINGING WEEKEND: PRO Chris O’Shea says; “All roads lead to Abbeyfeale on the 1st weekend in November for the 5th annual Garry McMahon traditional singing weekend hosted by the West Limerick singing club, taking place on November1- 4 . A full calendar of events are guaranteed again this year with the official opening on Friday night in The Ramble Inn bar @ 8pm by our chairman Tom McKenna and Professor John A Murphy of UCC, this will be followed by singing and storytelling in both the Ramble Inn Bar and Leen’s Hotel.

Saturday will start with a free singing workshop from 10.30am to 1pm in St Ita’s Hall, the highlight of the weekend is the newly composed ballad competition @ 4pm in the Ramble Inn Bar – this is a very enjoyable event with an amazing variety of newly composed ballad’s competing for the 2013 title. Saturday night will feature a singing session in both the Ramble Inn and Leen’s Hotel.

Sunday begin with Mass @ 12 midday as composed by Garry McMahon RIP featuring the Abbeyfeale choir. At 3pm we will have a tribute to Pat Brosnan in Fr Casey’s GAA club, Pat, originally from Lyreacrompane, Co Kerry and now living in Athea, is a well known composer of songs and poems. Also on Sunday singing will continue in the Ramble Inn Bar all evening until late. All are welcome to come along to any or all of those events.”
